March 1, 2005 From Roger The deadline is up and I have enough pre-orders to justify the Q960/Q962 project. There was a last minuite dash that helped. The lovely and gracious Margo is still in the process of getting quotes out so please be patient. I've decided to make the Q960/Q962 a virtual clone of Bob's beloved 960/962. Even down to the incandescent lamps. There might be minor differences. The circuitry will have to be completly new and different. There is the possibility of an Aid module that would add some features. As for gate buses, I'm inclined to provide a gate bus connector in the back that chains over to a 961-ish module that provides A/B gate bus switches, and 2 outputs with LEDs. Center position is off. Each Q961 would also have a gate bus thru connector so you can stack as many as you want. Still thinking about whether to put the gate delay on it, or if to rely on another gate modifer module I already have designed. Concerning the term 'bus', here in the US 'bus' has become the accepted spelling. I run several websites dedicated to computing buses - VME, STD, PC104, etc. Controlled.com PC104.com Thanks to all and I'm looking forward to the challenge. Without a civil and lively forum, this would be impossible. Thanks also to those of you that have provided me technical input and support, you know who you are. I've got a lot of work ahead of me, so if you see a soft glow and random bursts of blue smoke followed by sparks and muffled screeching sounds in the direction of East Texas, that's just me keeping my side of the bargin. Now it's time to sell off the fixed assets to generate enough cash for parts. Roger
